CHARACTER↴ Character Name: Anghel Higure Age: 15 Species: Luzon Bleeding Heart Dove Canon: Hatoful Boyfriend Canon Point: Right before going to Comitket (Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star) Character Info: Link Personality: The first thing someone would notice about Anghel is his strange way of looking at the world. Anghel sees it through the lens of an epic story. He is the Crimson Fallen Angel of Judecca. Likewise, everything around him gets dramatized. Even a homework assignment becomes a fated trial in his eyes. Calling him by his real name (Yoshio Akagi) results in anguished screams. Anghel is capable of speaking normally he generally does so reluctantly, the only exception seen in canon so far has been his conversation with his mother. He strives to be good (after all, he considers himself an angel) and will argue with himself furiously to stay on the straight and narrow. Anghel also tries to confront the evil that he sees, even if it can get him in over his head. In canon, he is convinced that the infirmary contains a great evil (with good reason). One bad end involves him attacking the doctor who runs it and never being seen again, but he can be convinced to leave the infirmary alone. For a little longer. Anghel is capable of self-control, but in his zeal he can forget his limits. Anghel is more aware than he seems. He knows people backstories, even when they don't remember it and generally reacts to things that actually happen or, in a one case, things that will happen. Most of his delusions line up to something in reality, even if no one can make sense of the way he attempts to communicate it or don't consider it worth the time to get Anghel to explain. His abilities do let him act as a kind of guide so long as someone takes him seriously enough to listen to.
Of course, Anghel is still a teenager and has other aspirations. He's a manga artist and routinely attempts to sell his stories at Comitket. His manga, Absolute Zero, depicts the world he sees in his delusions and the characters are mirrored off his schoolmates and teachers. The school ghost, Nageki Fujishiro, who is an avid reader edits the stories for him. Anghel can be pretty forgetful and often leaves his manga lying around the library. His work on his manga also shows the diligence with which he applies himself. Anghel will work in a freezing library that's far too cold for him (his species comes from a warmer climate) for the sake of finishing it in time. He's not one to give up on his goals easily, no matter how hard the going gets. Abilities: Hallucinations: Anghel releasees hallucinogenic pheromones into the air around him which even he is not immune. When he grows excited, he releases more pheromones which means people are more likely to be drawn in and share Anghel's hallucinations. People affected by these pheromones will be dragged into Anghel's delusions and will react as though they are the character than Anghel believes them to be. A character with a strong will can resist this. Opening a window can also help. Anyone not hallucinating with Anghel can drag other characters back to reality, though Anghel himself is permantly stuck in the hallucination. With effort, Anghel can influence a fairly wide area (eg. he once influenced his entire school after performing a ritual), but under normal circumstances it would only affect people near him.
During this game, Anghel will not be able to use these abilities to effect NPC's (unless mod permission has been given for the specific situation) and will at most be able to effect people standing next to him (provided that player permission has been previously given). Even with permission, Anghel will require at least a day's forewarning to effect more than a handful of people at a time. He will only be able to draw one or two characters who do not try to get drawn into Anghel's hallucinations at a time (again, dependent on player permission).
Turn-Based Battle System: While under the influence of Anghel's pheromones, characters may find themselves in an RPG-style turn-based battle system (which they don't find at all odd). They will have three stats. Constitution (which is their health points), Wisdom, and Charisma. They will also have several attacks that they can use. People do not die and, at worst, will find themselves disoriented at the end of a battle as they leave Anghel's influence.
This can only happen if the players/mods have previously given permission for their characters to be drawn into the battle system and is contingent upon players having given permission for Anghel to draw them into his hallucinations as well. This ability cannot be used on a large scale.
Real world consequences of delusions: While rarer, it is possible for Anghel's abilities to influence the real world. Anghel's abilities can help brainwashed characters with weak wills by engaging them in his battle system. In canon, another character made a laser with Anghel's abilities powered by the imagination of otaku. Anghel then used his abilties to turn his friends and teacher into magical girls so that they could create a shield to block it. This required the girls to have absolute faith in what they were doing and also took conscious effort on Anghel's part and all the given abilities were temporary. A more passive use of this ability is that it lets him see things that would normally be invisible or unseen. Some examples are that he knew the entrance to a hidden section of his school and that he was easily able to see a ghost that haunts his school library.
During the game, Anghel will not be able to give abilities (unless mod permission has previously been given for a given situation), even with conscious effort on Anghel's part. Even with mod permission, Anghel would need at least a day's forwarning to do this.
Knowledge: Anghel's abilities do give him knowledge of things he really shouldn't know, filtered into his unique worldview. This means that no one but Anghel himself really understands what Anghel knows, but Anghel will do his best to act upon any knowledge he has. Anghel can be tricked (especially when offering him something he wants), but generally he gets a pretty good idea of what a person is like and what their general goals are. Anghel can also learn of events that will happen in the future, but when it happens isn't under his control and doesn't always happen.
Any future knowledge will not be used within the game (due to the difficulties of making such an ability work in the setting). Anghel will only be able to know what players/mods have provided or given permission for him to know about their characters.
General bird abilities: Anghel is capable of using his wings as hands as well as using them to fly.
Call his name: And he will be there in an instant.

SAMPLES↴ 4th wall
Sample: The Cruel Warlord of the Netherworld was a threat as evil, or even more evil, than the Dark Sorcerer Wallenstien. Anghel Higure knew this in his bones.
And yet he'd chosen to stay in this land, far from the familiar trappings of the world he freely roamed after Edel Blau had released him from the Cage of Ice. For this way would ensure the end of his quest; the defeat of the Dark Sorcerer Wallenstein. Wallenstein sought to envelop the world in darkness. Anghel could not sit by and let it come to pass! And yet Anghel did not have the power to emerge victorious. Not while fighting against his darker half, Himnesia, and preventing himself from falling into evil once more. The Purveyor of Dreams would lend him her power to ensure his victory. In return, Anghel Higure needed to complete the quests she had set before him.
The first task was not for the faint of heart and Anghel quailed at the thought of it: to recite the epic sagas before a audience from world's previously undreamt of. Could his pitiful recitations fully convey the truth of what had happened so long ago. Of Edel Blau. Of the Caller of Stars. Or the overwhelming evil of the Dark Sorcerer whose evil surpassed even the Cruel Warlord of this world. Already Anghel could feel the demons pulling at him. Urging to him to loosen the bonds Edel Blau had placed over Himnesia when she sealed him away in the Cage of Ice.
"No!" Anghel told them in alarm. "No! I will not surrender!"
He marched onwards to fulfill his obligation to the Purveyor of Dreams. To defeat the Dark Sorcerer, Anghel would do anything. |
